A pianist of Japanese rock band SEKAI NO OWARI, Saori, has been nominated for Naoki Sanjugo Prize, which is a Japanese literary award.
SEKAI NO OWARI is a popular band in Japan, and consists of the vocalist Fukase, the sound producer Nakajin, DJ love and Saori. They made their debut in 2011, and they have become Japanese national band after attending the New Year Red and White Music Festival “Kohaku Utagassen” in 2015. They all are childhood friends and surprisingly, they live in a house even now.
Saori is a pianist of the band, and also acts as a sound director or general director when they have concerts. Her real name is Saori Fujisaki. She has started to play a piano since she was 5 years old, and has official license to teach piano to students. She got married with a Japanese actor Masaru Ikeda in January 2017, and also got pregnant in August 2017.
Saori has released her first novel “Futago”(Twins) in October 2017. Futago is a story about a girl who were always alone. Her friend had been only a piano, but one day a boy Tsukishima appeared. She is attracted by him, and he changes, grows her gradually. As soon as it released on October 28 2017, many people praised her novel. And finally, her first novel has been nominated for Naoki Prize. But there’re some voices that the value of Naoki Prize has been fallen, because a few years ago, a Japanese comedian Naoki Matayoshi got this prize with his first novel Hibana. Some said this prize has become an award for celebrities who have already been popular, though it was for unknown writers before.
