Japanese software company SOURCENEXT has announced its release of 50 languages translation device named POCKETALK, from December 14, 2017.
SOURCENEXT has been known as a company selling low cost softwares like PDF conversion software, security software and OCR software.
POCKETALK is a device which makes users communicate in 50 languages. It has SIM card slot, 1.3 inch display, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage. It uses translation services on the Internet like Google Translation or Baidu. When a user talk to this device in certain language, it asks translation services for the translation, and will play or display it after getting answer.
Originally, a Netherlands company Travis developed this device, and SOURCENEXT engaged in choosing translation service and getting Technical Standards Conformity which is required to sell it in Japan.
POCKETALK costs 250 dollars. SOURCENEXT also prepares SIM card which is available in 61 countries and valid for 2 years in 100 dollars. A set of POCKETALK and SIM card is also available in around 300 dollars. SOURCENEXT has started to order acceptance of POCKETALK at their official website. As a gift of reservation, they will present those who reserve it with a silicon case.
