One library in Tokyo pasted up a notice “Dumpling coupons by GYOZA OHSHO on Yomiuri Shinbun(newspaper) has been stolen frequently.” This notice was shared on Twitter and is becoming a big topic in Japan.
The library also added that “Stealing those coupons will be the crime Damage to Property”. According to the Twitter user who spread this twit, he has been believed that people reading newspaper in public library look intelligent, classy and eat healthy bread with herb tea. But now he found that they actually want to eat common people’s food like dumpling.
Some Twitter users responded to him, “Even at library near my place, postcards to participate in a prize competition have been stolen sometimes.”, “It’s common in all libraries.”.
According to the library announced about dumpling coupon, “we know who stole the coupons but we don’t like to find the criminal so we pasted up the notice. Recent 2 months, coupons aren’t stolen. If there is no theft from now on, we are going to remove the notice.”
