A Japanese confectionary company Calbee has launched a project “Local Potato Chips Project” at a community website Blabo! to create potato chips of 47 prefectures in Japan.
Calbee is going to collect voices of people from each 47 prefecture at Blabo!. Blabo! is a website which provides a online forum to discuss about products or services people want. Not only normal people but some companies and municipalities have a community at this website.
Calbee has opened their projects to gather opinions about 47 prefectures’ local potato chips. They request users living in each prefecture to share ideas about their unique local food and dishes, memories of the local food.
3 opinions of each prefecture will be candidates, and Calbee will present 3 cases of potato chips to the users who provided the candidates. If its idea is commercialized, the user would be assigned as a potato chips ambassador of the prefecture.
Calbee plans to release those potato chips from autumn in 2018.
