Book store hostel BOOK AND BED TOKYO will newly open its 4th branch on October 5 2017 along Asakusa Kaminarimon street. This hostels is popular as a hostel which customers can feel like staying in a book store or a library.
The concept of this hostel is “an accommodation bookshop”. Kei Asai, a CEO of R-STORE Inc., wanted to create a hostel like staying friend’s house. When we stay friend’s house, we can see some interest books in their bookshelf and feel liking reading them, that’s it. And also when he visited a hostel in Okinawa, the hostel has a bar. During drinking a the bar, he felt that he wants to sleep here. This idea was applied to this book store hostel.
His company R-STORE was originally running a website to introduce fashionable or cool rentals. And also the company has launched an iPhone application “MADORI”. MADORI allows customers to choose rent from the room layout drawing without any pictures.
The book store hostel has from 2,500 to 3,000 books depending on branches, guests can take original food and drink like coffee or original cocktail at cafe bar. There’re 4 branches in Japan at Ikebukuro, Kyoto, Fukuoka and Asakusa.
The book store hostel doesn’t have room, guests can have only bed. Washroom and shower room are shared by every guest. The price depends on type of beds. Standard bed costs more than 3,500 yen without tax, Compact bed costs more than 3,500, Double bed only available at Fukuoka and Asakusa branches costs more than 5,500 yen. There’re River view beds only at Kyoto branch and cost more than 4,800 yen. They might be changed on Friday night, Saturday night and before holiday. Guests can reserve those bed at their official website and English, Chinese and Korean languages are available.
