An anonymous contributor “Naoto Date” (This is not a real name) who raised “Tiger Mask movement” revealed his real name and face on 7 December 2016. His real name is Masatake Kawamura, 43, an officer in Gunma prefecture. He continues to make a donation of Japanese school bags called “Randoesel” to orphanages.
In 2010, he donated school bags to orphanages with a letter from “Naoto Date” for the first time. Actually the name “Naoto Date” doesn’t exist in a real world. Originally the name came from an animation character. Date is masked pro wrestler “Tiger Mask” and he donates money to orphanages in the animation. That’s the reason why he used this name as the anonymous contributor.
After his action, other “Naoto Date”s appeared and imitated his action. We called this action “Tiger Mask movement”.
According to Mr. Kawamura, he lost his mother when he was a child and couldn’t buy school bag called “Randoesel”. He didn’t want other children to supper like he did, so started this donation from 2010.
For a few years from his debut, other “Naoto Date” followed him but there is few now. The reason he revealed his name and face now is, he wanted to activate this action more.
